Leave No Trace Policies

At Treeline Print Co. we believe in the responsible use of materials and have designed our products, packaging, and processes to match our low-impact standards.

Packaging

To reduce single-use plastics, we use kraft paper boxes for our card sets and prefer to send single cards without plastic sleeves—they’re already protected well by our rigid mailers. Select our ♻ Eco-friendly Packaging option in checkout to receive any single cards in your order without sleeves.

Art prints are packaged using protective sleeves and a backing board as the prints are highly susceptible to damage from humidity and debris without them. We are researching alternative options for these products in the future.

Shipping

All of our shipping materials can be curbside recycled—or better still, reused again for shipping, gifts, or storage. Most are 100% recycled and sustainably sourced from our awesome Colorado-based supplier, EcoEnclose. They made us custom-sized boxes for our products to reduce packing filler and we also use their zero-waste thermal shipping labels and tape to eliminate the waste of ink cartridges and plastic tape. Our shipping carrier, USPS, is also able to pick-up orders right from our studio on their normal route which reduces the need for driving to and from the post office.

STUDIO

We use TerraCycle boxes for all single-use plastics that our orders and supplies arrive in, though we are pleased to see many are now coming without it! Most extra paper materials in the studio find multiple uses for paint testing, sketches, or crafts before they make their way to be recycled.

One of the reasons we love watercolor as a medium is the low impact it has on waste: paints last years and can be reconstituted easily with water from one session to the next, there is very minimal cleanup required of both materials and workspace, and final works generally require only paper to produce. Our press can be a bit messier but is easily cleaned with simply vegetable oil and a rag (made from old towels and shirts!).
